ABSTRACT
Background: Stroke is a disease caused by blood brain vessel disorder that is
affected by many irreversible risk factors such as age and sex and reversible risk
factors such as hypertension, elevated blood glucose, dyslipidimia, and occupational
levels. The brain has low levels of antioxidants so neurons are relatively susceptible
to oxidative stress than other body cells. Objective: the goal of this study was to know
the ratio between level of Malondialdehid in patients with ischemic stroke and
hemorrhagic stroke at Soedarso Hospital Pontianak. Method: This study was an
observational analytics with case control design. The sample used 15 patients
ischemic stroke, 15 patients hemorrhagic stroke and 15 students as a control. Result:
There was a significant difference between control group towards ischemic and
hemorrhagic stroke groups (<0.05) and no significant difference between ischemic
and hemorrhagic stroke groups (>0.05). Conclusion: the level of Malondialdehid is
increase in patients with ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke

Keywords: Ischemic stroke patients, hemorrhagic stroke patients, levels of

Malondialdehyde.
