INTERVIEW ANALYSIS

I interviewed four people, asking them eight questions about thriller genre, the questions
were:

The reason I asked Q1 was to have a clear idea whether the target audience enjoy thriller
films or not. Furthermore, Q3 was just a follow up to ask why do they do or don’t and give a
reason for that. These questions were picked specifically so our group could find out the
ratio how many people enjoy thrillers compared to the ones who don’t. This is significant
because we can use this information to develop the groups idea to make it enjoyable for
everyone watching.

However, the other questions were a multiple-choice question so that our group could find
out what the audience would prefer to see in a thriller movie. For example, Q1 and 6 were
asked specifically so that our group could find out what type of situation the audience
would like to be in. The majority of the vote were tension and suspense – this will therefore
be added so the audience can enjoy it more. Moreover, most the people I interviewed
exaggerated they like to watch thriller movies especially with their friends so it can build
atmosphere within the room. In result of this I will need to make the film more enjoyable so
all friends can sit together and enjoy the film.
Due to the answers to these questions I found out my target audience views towards thriller
movies and what they would like to be in there for them enjoy and want to continue
watching the film. Within my group’s thriller film, I will be using tension and suspense – this
will be important because it’ll interest the audience because it’ll be an exciting watch
especially with the tension and suspense added. This is also significant because we’re also
giving the audience what they want to see. The use of a baseball bat may be executed due
to the target audience wanting suspense and action. However, this depends on if I’m aloud
to use it on set, I will need to ask permission from the people in charge as they may not
condone that.
