Social and Mental Health Indicators

Physical Environment It is the part of the environment surrounding humans that contains only
physical elements, such as the water, soil, air, and so on.
Healthy Living It is the steps, actions and strategies one puts in place to achieve
optimum health. Healthy living is about taking responsibility and making
smart health choices. Eating right, getting physically fit, emotional
wellness, mental wellness and prevention are all part of creating a
healthy lifestyle.
General Health General health includes self-reported health, long-standing physical
condition or disability. Limiting long-standing physical condition or
disability.
Community safety and trust This includes the general trust such as neighborhood trust,
neighborhood safety, and home safety. Also the perception of local
crime and non-violent neighborhood crime.
Discrimination It talks about the victims of discrimination, perception of racial
discrimination and victim of harassment.
Community Participation It is the involvement of people in a community to take responsibility for
its own development activities and share in decision making for and
implementation for all other development programs.
Social Networks and Support The social support is offered by the part of the social network, the
people around us, and on whose help we can always count.
Social Inclusion It is the act of making all groups of people within a society feel valued
and important.
Violence It is an act of physical force that causes or is intended to cause harm.
The damage inflicted by violence may be physical, psychological, or
both.
Financial Security It refers to the peace of mind you feel when you aren't worried about
your income being enough to cover your expenses. It also means that
you have enough money saved to cover emergencies and your future
financial goals.
