Agony of Existence

Julie Jane Blanco

Tell me
The very essence of my existence.
The very reason why complexity chose to embrace me.
Imprisoned by my own thoughts,
Drowning in the infinite ocean
Yet still striving to gasp for air.

Show me
The fastest way to nirvana
Where a silver lining awaits me.
Break me free
And break me even
Until I reach the highest peak on earth.

Usher me
Towards your open arms.
Widely enough, for this rancor I’ve been carrying
Fits perfectly into your microscopic core.

I wish it’s you

Who will accept wholly the fact that
I turned into someone I never dreamed of–
An urban outdoorsman.
Lost, ailing, and a pariah,
Seeking for warmth and comprehension.
I want you
To see the beauty in all my demons
While you sway me in a hammock
Along with the sweet melody that the angels sing.

And as the heavens sigh,

All this agony

Will bid its goodbye.
