Competition Rules

Competition Requirements

o Each qualifying barangay can only send one (1) official representative.
o Each delegate must be born female.
o Each contestant must be a resident of the barangay she represents for at least 6 months.
o Age is determined by October 1,2010. Entrants must be at least 16 years old - 20 years old.
o Delegates must be single and have never been married.
o Delegates must have never been pregnant or given birth.

Competition Categories:

Preliminaries (first part)

This part will determine the Top 15 semi finalist for the Presentation Show. All contestants will
undergo the Preliminary Interviews, Evening Gown and Casual Wear.

Preliminary Personal Interview:

All delegates must possess excellent conversational skill. She must be able to express
herself with clarity and diplomacy and exude a friendly and inviting personality.

Interview Details:
Each contestant participates in an individual 3-5 minute interview with our panel of
judges. There are typically 5-7 judges on a panel. Interview will begin with a 30 second
self-introduction. The body of the interview will be a combination of questions from
information given on your fact sheet as well as current events… (This can be anything
from war to reality TV questions to questions about your platform.) The interview
concludes with a 30 second opportunity to make a final statement to the judges of “Why
you’d like to be Miss SK Baguio 2010.” As well as any information you’d like the judges to
know that wasn’t covered in the interview itself.

Attire:
Wear a dress suit for the interview competition. No Pants suits! (Dress suit being a
nice dress-suit you'd wear to a job interview.)

Judging Criteria:
Conversational skill, personality, character, knowledge of platform and current events,
grooming, and fashion sense.

Scoring:
Interview counts for 33.3% of the total score. The judges’ decision is final.

Preliminary Casual Wear rounds;

All delegates must carry themselves with dignity, poise and sophistication. Judges will be
evaluating how well her choice of apparel suits her (such as fit, color, and style) as well
as her on-stage presentation.

Judging Criteria:
Modeling ability, personality, grooming, and poise.
 Scoring:
Casual Wear counts for 33.3% of the total score.

Preliminary Evening Gown:

All delegates must exude grace, poise, elegance and sophistication. Judges will be
evaluating the gown and how well it suits the delegate (e.g., fit, color, style) as well as the
delegate’s on-stage presentation.

o Evening Gown Competition Details:

Evening gown must be floor length. Sophistication counts! All delegates are permitted to
wear an evening gown of their choice.

Judging criteria:
Modeling ability, stage presence, poise and grace.

Scoring:
Evening Gown counts for 33.4% of the total score.

o Photogenic:

Each contestant will pose for a head and shoulders photogenic photo before she goes into interview.
This photo will be taken by our official photographer and judged by the panel of judges as your
photogenic picture.

Scoring:
Photogenic is a non-bearing category. Miss Photogenic shall be awarded on the Presentation
Show.

NOTE: Once the preliminary scores have been tallied, the top fifteen delegates will be announced on-
stage on finals night. This gives us the top 15. The top 15 will compete in evening gown (The delegates
with the Top 10 scores shall advance to the next rounds), Casual Wear (The Top 5 scores will advance to
the Final Question round where scores of the finalist from the two previous rounds will be going back to
zero), and On-stage Interview Final Question on finals night. The delegate with the overall high-point
score (Final Question round) will win the title of Miss SK Baguio 2010. In the event of a tie, preliminary
scores will be added to the finals scores to determine the winner. In the event that does not break the tie,
those delegates who have tied will be asked to answer one final on-stage question. The winner will be
determined by our panel of judges. Scoring System in the Finals or Presentation Night will be different
from the scoring system of the Preliminaries.

Finals Night (Presentation Show):

Once the preliminary scores have been tallied, the top fifteen delegates will be announced on-

JUDGING

A. There will be 7-9 judges.

B. Judges will decide winners by marking points on the score sheet for individual contestants.
Scores will be computed after each category .After computation of the scores, the TOP
10(Casual Wear) shall advance to the next rounds. The same happens in the Casual Wear
where the TOP 5(Evening Gown) shall advance to the Final Question round.

C. Each contestant will be judged on the following categories:

 Personal appearance
 Speech: content, delivery, and spiritual message
 Poise / Personality

D. A Point System will be used in which a contestant can receive 1-10 points in each category:

1 -2 points = poor
3-4 points = fair
5-6 points = good
7-8 points = excellent
9-10 points = outstanding

ANY DISCREPANCIES, DISPUTES OR PROBLEMS THAT MAY ARISE WILL BE RESOLVED IN CONSULTATION WITH THE
JUDGES, STEERING COMMITTEE, PAGEANT COMMITTEE, AND PAGEANT DIRECTOR. THEIR DECISIONS ARE FINAL.
