Speaker: Karen Rice Gardiner

● Karen Rice Gardiner is the Marketing Strategist and Independent consultant at Smithsonian

Institution. Also, she is an expert in a lot of areas such as social media marketing, branding,

digital advertising, email, campaign planning, e-commerce, educational researcher,

leadership, photography, and many more. She studied graphic design and marketing from

Southern Connecticut State University and Studied French history and language from the

University of Strasbourg, Strasbourg France. Karen promoted many theaters, stores, and

restaurants for 28 million visitors as the general manager of marketing at the Smithsonian

Institution in Washington, DC. As the Director of Creative Services for the National

Geographic Society, she guides the creative staff of thirteen people. Furthermore, she

supervises more than one thousand e-mail promotions annually and 165 million mail pieces.

For National Geographic magazine, she educated international partners on the most

constructive marketing strategies. Moreover, Karen received many marketing industry

awards due to her hard work.
