Save (Dante ncn nappa) ‘SUMMATIVE COMMENTS BY PRESERVICE TEACHER: ‘Coming Into my third placemont Iwas anxious as Thad not yet had an opportunity to manage a whole class by myself so the idea of running the last two weeks was quite daunting, My lead-in days were mainly spent observing and getting to know the students. Despite having been placed in low SES schools before, was quite different to the previous schools I was placed in and this took some getting used to. For my first full week, Iwas tasked with running the literacy block, I've always considered literacy to be one of my strengths as both a student and as an educator sol was quite confident with the content Iwas teaching. However, teaching my first block did bring a lack of confidence in my behaviour management strategies to my attention. By the sacond week | was running the mathematics block as well. feel that this subject is my weakest areas in the curriculum and while Iwas happy to dive in and give ita go, l found myself struggling with my own misconceptions surrounding mathematics. My mentor had set up a feedback system in google docs where he could send me his observations and | could comment and reflect on my teaching. This was particularly helpful as it allowed me to easily critically reflect on my teaching. As | wrap up my final two weeks of full ime Ifeel Thave Improved several aspects of my teaching and | am feeling far more confident then at the start of my practicum. Despite the challenges | have faced, this experience has only left me feeling more confident that | have chosen the right carec rma Tos Sinate ow IERS AND SITE COORDINATOR! ‘The assessment citera used inthis report are the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. ‘The Presence Teacher may wish to submit his report with an application for employment.
