As per Regional Memorandum No. 38 s, 2019 titled 2019 Regional Schools Press Conference, the Department of Education, Schools Division of Oriental Mindoro announces to the field the conduct of the 31" Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) School Paper Contest following this timetable for calendar year 2019: October 11, deadline of submission of school paper entries; October 13-14, evaluation and judging of school papers; October 17, recording and documentation of winners; October 18-20, revision of RSPC-school paper qualifiers, October 21, submission of the revised school papers to the Regional Office; October 25, awarding of school paper winners, Division level. 2. The conference aims to: a. demonstrate understanding on the importance of journalism by expressing it through different journalistic endeavors and approaches; sustain advocacy on social consciousness; ©. provide a venue for an enriching learning experience for students interested in pursuing journalism as a career; promote responsible journalism and fair and ethical use of social media; and €. enhance journalistic competence through healthy and friendly competitions. 3. The conference activities shall include the following: 3.1.Best School Publication Contest for the following categories: nglish Filipino 1. Editorial Page 1, Pahinang Editoryal 2. Best School Paper in | Secondary Secondary | 4, The competition for School Paper and/or portable document format open to all elementary and secondary schools in the following categories: Elementary ~ Filipino, Elementary ~ English, Secondary ~ Filipino, and Secondary ~ English. School paper entries shall be submitted to the Office of the Curriculum Implementation Division (CID), Schools Division Office (SDO) ~ DepEd, Oriental Mindoro on or before October 11, 2019. Attention: EPS Thervel M. Saez and EPS Magdalena B. Morales. 5. The 31* DSPC shall follow the rules and guidelines cited in the Regional Memorandum No. 38, s. 2019 to determine the winners in all categories, 6. Members Technical Working Committee, Secretariat, and officers of the Oriental Mindoro Elementary and Secondary School Paper Advisers Association are expected to assist the Program and Management Team during the recording and awarding of winners. 7. The recording and documentation of winners will be held on October 17, 2019 at SDO Conference Hall. The expected participants here are members of Program and Management ‘Team, Secretariat, Documentation Committee, Statistics and Results. 8. The awarding of school papers shall be held in Aurelio Arago Memorial National High School on October 25, 2019. Schools Paper Advisers of winning entries are encouraged to attend the activity. 9. No registration fee shall be collected from the participants. 10. Meals and snacks of DepEd personnel who will be in-charge of the recording and documentation activity on October 17 (refer to paragraph 7), and awarding activity (paragraph 8) shall be charged to the remaining amount of the 31° DSPC registration fees. ‘Their transportation expenses and per diem, however, shall be charged against school MOOE, 11.
