Dear: RT Internship Supervisor:
This letter is in reference to Ms. Elisa Banyard. Ms. Banyard is a senior in the Department of
Occupational and Recreational Therapies and is academically prepared and ready to gain her
clinical practice in recreational therapy through a professional internship. As the Program
Director of Recreational Therapy I have had the honor of teaching Elisa in her course work that
specifically addresses the core competencies, by NCTRC, regarding the RT process. I have not
only witness her academic ability but also evaluated her ability to take the academic knowledge
and apply it to clinical practice. Elisa has worked extremely hard to understand the practice of
RT and to apply this knowledge to varying populations and settings.
Elisa is motivated, dependable, compassionate, caring, and committed to working with
individuals with disabilities. She is academically responsible, attends classes, completes
assignments in a timely manner, and contributes when encouraged to the class discussion. Her
academic success demonstrates her level of commitment to herself and her future professional
practice. Her reserved nature speaks to her respectful nature but when required or necessary she
can step-up and lead. Over the past two years I have seen Elisa mature and continue to assume
stronger professional roles.
Elisa will work extremely hard to professionally represent your agency and offer outstanding
patient care. The more experience and mentoring she receives the stronger professional she will
become.
Ifyou have any further questions please feel free to contact my office, 801-581-8868.
