Thank you for the opportunity to assess your sales data in order to provide recommendations for
increasing your sales. The analysis and recommendations below are based on the data you provided,
which covers a period from May 2004 through June 2006. The analysis below is based on this data
alone. Therefore, our recommendations should be tempered by your knowledge of business realities
and your market. Please let us know if we can answer any questions concerning the analysis or the
recommendations provided.

ANALYSIS 1 Trends of Years

Analysis

Based on the data from August 2004 to June 2006 revenue increased when ads were run on a daily basis
on tv ads, and when the customers used coupons that in turn produced revenue.

Recommendation

Based on my observation I feel that the more that the store offers incentives and special pricing for senior
citizens and having a rewards program that entices more people to come and shop at our store. I believe
that is a great way to produce more revenue,

ANALYSIS 2 Total Revenue Salesperson

Analysis

Based on the data I can observe that Michael, Anne and Steven came in with 6% in total revenue
sales. The lowest of them all was Steven with the total of $75568.00 in sales from 2004 to 2006.
Margret was the employee who generated the most out of the rest of the employees coming in at
18% in total revenue sales, with the grand total of $250187.00 in sales from the year 2004 to 2006.

ANALYSIS 3 Total Discount Revenue Employee

Analysis

Based on the Analysis we can summarize that Michael and Steven were the employees that
generated the lowest revenue, and Margaret was the employee that most created revenue
amongst all other employees.

Recommendation

Based on my observation the employees that did not do as well in their sales need to be partnered
to work with employees that excel in their sales so they can learn from the top employees to see
their strategies on sales. I would also recommend that the employees go on trainings on
customer service and to be trained as well on product knowledge so they can always know what
the store is selling incase a customer asks for feed back for a product they will know exactly how
to answer without saying they need to ask someone else and by then the customer can get
annoyed for loosing so much time and we always want to keep the customer happy.

ANALYSIS 4 Count of Country

Analysis We can observe that we have a lot of countries that we sell our products to and the
least country that provides revenue for us are Argentina, Poland, Portugal and Italy.

Recommendation

I recommend that we analyze the products that are being shipped to other countries and promote
the items in ads, in social media abroad so we can have more incoming sales.

ANALYSIS 5 Sales by Quarter

Analysis

Based on my Analysis I can conclude that the lowest quarter was Quarter 3 in 2004 which the
total in sales were $56923.10. During the 2005 Quarter 1 and 2 the sales stayed almost in the
same numbers which were steady only about $1000.00 difference in the two quarters. In the year
2006 we can observe that, that year was the one that produced the most significant amount of
money compared to the other quarters and years.

Recommendation

I recommend that in order to boost sales we need to know our mission what customers are we
targeting at the store if its children well we should put coloring books and colors by the register4
so when the mom pays the items grab their attention and they are forced to buy the item. Another
way to target shoppers is at the entrance of the store we can put items that don’t usually sell to
promote the item, so customers can get familiar for the product and start purchasing it. Have
meetings with employees to remind them that customers come first.

ANALYSIS 6 Sales in other Country’s

Analysis

After taking a good look at the Analysis we can summarize that the Countries with the less sales
were in Argentina, Northway, Poland, Portugal, Italy , followed by other countries. The Countries
that had the most sales were United States with sales of $250,000, and Germany almost $200,000
the rest of the countries were all kind of in the same bracket.

Recommendation

I recommend that in each country they implement more discounts for the shoppers such as
coupons, ecoupons on their Mobil devices and rewards programs at the store to improve sales.
Also maybe give samples out to promote sales and the customers will get familiarized with the
product.

SELF ASSESSMENT
From completing the Excel project, I learned … how to read and analyze data. I learned how important
data can be it provides us information that in turn can be used to transform it into charts and graphs for
presentation. I was able to create sheets in Excel and organize data in alphabetical order, and use the
data on excel to produce pivot charts and graphs. This was the most useful class I could have taken to
use it in my future. Excel is very important tool to use in any organization.
