Dear Families,

The first science presentation for grade 3 French Immersion students is on structures. We have been
studying what structures are, how they are made, materials, attachments, and what makes a structure
stable.

Students can choose a structure that interests them. They can choose anything natural, made by humans
or animals. They should provide information given in the attached format/model. We are practicing
discussing structures in class so students should be familiar with the vocabulary and sentence structures.

Students can collect a few photos to help cue them with their presentation. They should be prepared to
present without reading their entire prepared statements. Students can use Google documents or Google slide
show if they have access. Alternatively, they can use photos or drawings on a poster/bristol board. Please
email me if you have questions. This should be a fun project with a few visuals to aid with cues. It’s not meant
to be a very intense activity so please don’t fuss too much over details.

The presentation is due on ​Monday October 21st.​ Names will be drawn to present each day, beginning on
October 21st.
