Assessing the INTEGRITY of a building/site/monument

i.e.
- to what extent the monument is still intact after development?
- is intangible heritage affected by the development?
- are there cumulative impacts?

Understanding:
…..the social, cultural, technological,… impact of the design of
reuse

Identifying PRO and CONTRA to determine if the transformation was


successful
Impact Assessment

THINK OF:
- historical values: consequences of development over time
- physical values: identity of the building kept/reshaped,…
- cultural values: the new design has affected (or not) the ‘cultural scene’
of the city…
- social values: residents or user benefits or loss

- Physical weaknesses:
- financial situation
- light failure
- usage of spaces ineffectively

- Social weaknesses:
- negatively changed the character of the neighborhood
- ……..
