    CYBER SECURITY FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLES

    ABSTRACT
    Electric vehicles with internet connections are the future of automobile industry. These electric
    vehicles include a number of computers ie Electronic Control Units (ECU’s) interconnected by a
    common Controller Area Network. But these electric vehicles running on CAN Bus protocol are
    vulnerable to many cyber attacks as this protocol was developed during a time when the concept
    of Internet connected vehicle and all of it’s aftermath were not anticipated. The existing methods
    to tackel the same have many limitations. Decentralized Security Exchange (DSE) to efficiently
    support cyber security for vehicles including any electric, autonomus or conventional vehicle
    having a CAN bus and the importance of DSE solutions especially during disaster scenarios are
    explained.
