Movable Pattern 1: The Box Pattern

The "Box Pattern" below is the first of three movable patterns bass players often use to vary it u

up" in the bass lines they play. This pattern can be started (or rootecs on any E or A string
note. The name of the note you start with determines the name of the box pattern. Match-
ing the root of the chord (G7 = a G note as the root) with the box pattern (G Box
pattern ). rs t he secret to mastenng t he movable pattern.
