Okir or okkil is the term for geometric and flowing designs (often based on an elaborate leaf and vine

pattern) and folk motifs that can be usually found in Maranao and Muslim-influenced artwork, especially
in the southern Philippines, and in some parts of Southeast Asia.
T'NALAK TAPESTRY-

T'nalak, a deep brown abaca-based cloth tie-dyed with intricate designs, is produced by women of
Mindanao's T'boli Tribe. It is one of the best known cultural products of the Philippines. The T'boli are
famous for their dream-inspired and spirit infused T'nalak weavings, but also for their embroidery, brass
casting and other crafts. T'nalak weaving is an artform perfected over decades of practice by T'boli
women, and only a handful of master weavers can be considered true 'dream weavers', the works of
whom are highly valued.
PIS SIYABI- Tausug woven head covering or pis siyabit is made of silk and square in form provided with
geometric patterns. This is a multi-purpose headdress may worn on the shoulder, knotted around the hilt
of the sword or kris or tied around the head among the Tausog men.
PAPER MACHE-Papier-mâché is a composite material consisting of paper pieces or pulp, sometimes
reinforced with textiles, bound with an adhesive, such as glue, starch, or wallpaper paste.
Arts varies in a different way such as context, form, context, different traditions, cultures and beliefs of
itself. Arts has its own characteristics that makes art exquisitely more beautiful. Contermporary arts
focus in artist emotions or feeling and belief. The emotions gives a life in modern arts it can create a
different schemes through artist's feeling. The second one, is the traditional art the part of this art is the
culture of a certain group of people, with skills and knowledge passed down through generations from
masters to apprentices.
