Kate Knauff: Where are you from?

Anda Slavu: Romania, I moved here when I was 12.

KK: What was moving her like? Do you remember?

AS: I don’t remember much because I was 12 but it was fun. We lived with my mom’s
boyfriend at the time.

KK: Could you tell me a little about your family?

AS: I have 1 brother, my mom she has a boyfriend but it's easier to call him my stepdad. We
have 2 cats that were leftover from my stepdads ex-she didn’t want them. My brother is 12.

KK: Has anything happened to you worth mentioning?

AS: My dad had bipolar disorder. One time during one of his episodes. We were living in an
apartment and the doors were locked. While we were trying to sleep he started yelling
“open up or I'll kill you.” I was 11 or 12 when this happened.

KK: As a Junior do you have any thoughts on college or any idea about a college you want to go
to?
AS: My first choice was UCLA but its too far away and it costs too much. I'll just go to one
that’s not really that far and doesn’t require much of an SAT score to get in.

KK: Do you have a dream job in mind? Why?

AS: Doctor, but I’m not really sure of what kind. Or a nurse, I always liked nurses. I always
liked helping people.

KK: What are some things you are doing as a resume builder?
AS: Having a job but then I got fired. I’m trying to find another one. I volunteer at Baylor
hospital over the summer. I usually do the same thing (at the hospital) because I know who
I work well with.

KK: Have you ever traveled to any unusual places or had some unusual experiences?
AS: Galveston, I like Galveston. I like the beach and the hotel we stayed in. When we got
there we couldn’t find the hotel entrance and we circled around it five times and I pointed
it out two times and they (my family) didn’t listen to me.

KK: What is one of the hardest things you have ever had to do?
AS: Leaving my best friend. He doesn’t live here anymore, he lives in Romania. We go visit
over the summer, I stay with his family.

KK: What is something you really look forward to in life? Why? After college?
AS: Going to college, I can have more fun and freedom. I want to travel, I haven’t done
traveling.

KK: Where do you see yourself in 10 years

AS: I’d be 27 I would be out of college, I'll have a job-the job i want. I don’t know if I’ll be
married we’ll say engaged/married.

KK: What is one thing or person you can't live without?

AS: I feel like if I say my phone that would be too shallow. I guess it would be my best
friend. We’ve been friends since kindergarten or First grade.

KK: What is your biggest Pet Peeve/Annoyance?

AS: I’m going to list one because I have way too many. I guess it would be just people
making random sounds when I tell them stop. Like when your taking a test and someone is
clicking their pen.

KK: What is your favorite subject in school and why?

AS: English, We write a lot of essays and I write good essays. If you give me a prompt I can
just match it with something in the real world.

KK: Who Inspires you the most? It can be someone you know, a celebrity, etc.
AS: It would be my mom because we came here, she was divorced with just me and my
brother.
