Dear Mr. Alburger,

In my Pride Paper I will be researching criminal investigators because this is the career I wish to
have after college. I hope to learn more about the career as a whole and not just what you would
see in a movie. The focus of the paper is to go further into depth of the career to be able to
explain exactly what it takes to become a criminal investigator. So far, I have found many
sources that give examples of criminal investigators in real life and experiences they have gone
through.

I will talk about the history, educational requirements, day to day information, and the future of
criminal investigators. It will be organized starting with the history leading into the day to day
information with educational requirements put in as necessary to the specific source. The future
will be the last thing talked about in my paper that includes impacts and an outlook to the career.
I hope to learn more about the day to day life and what kind of impact criminal investigators are
planning to leave.

My mentor will help me with getting a real life experience of what the career of a criminal
investigator would be like. I hope to work with our local criminal investigator at the mooresville
police department. I want to be able to shadow or help with certain parts of a criminal case so I
can get a real life experience. A great final product for me would be a case that I helped close,
being with my mentor.

I have read Pine Lake’s ethics guide and understand that plagiarism, either intentional or
unintentional, will result in a zero on my paper.

Sincerely,

Brooke Schmidt
