Here's an easy recipe to make Christmas cookies. Kids will love these cookies
and they can even help you make them. Practise your English while you cook!
CHRISTMAS COOKIES
1. Beat the butter and sugar in a bowl with the electric mixer for five minutes, until it becomes
fluffy.
2. Add the egg, the salt and the vanilla. Mix again.
3. Add the flour and keep mixing until it becomes a stiff dough.
4. Put the dough in plastic wrap and leave it in the fridge for two hours.
5. Roll the dough on a floured surface and cut into different shapes using cookie cutters.
6. Place the cookies on a baking tray and bake them at maximum temperature until they become
brown on the edges, usually fifteen minutes.
7. Wait until they are cold, and if you like, you can decorate them with coloured icing.
8. You can also make a hole on the cookies before baking them, pass a short piece of wool
through it and hang them from the Christmas tree!

FLAPJACKS
225g butter
85g sugar
2 tablespoons honey
1/4 teaspoon salt
340g porridge oats
115g raisins (optional)
1. Melt the butter, sugar and honey in a saucepan. Turn off the heat.
2. Add the porridge oats, the salt and the raisins. Mix well.
3. Put the mixture into an oven dish. Flatten with a spoon. Bake at 180ºC for 20 to 30 minutes.
