System Maintenance

Once the software is fully developed and implemented, the s/w is used being the
company usage also grows. So after sometimes the software, which has been installed, needs
some modification. If the s/w needs modifications all the steps needed to develop new s/w has to
be executed.

The need has to be satisfied, the design has to made and coding has to done. Then the
new module has to be connected to the existing s/w modules.

When a new situation arises, the s/w can create an error, but if its found out and repaired
the s/w will not be causing more problems. Always maintenance has to be done on the w/w, for
to make the s/w work adaptive or perceptive.

Corrective maintains means repairing processing or performance failures or making

changes because of previously uncorrected problems or false assumptions.

Adaptive maintenance means changing the program function. Perceptive maintenance

means enhancing the performance or modifying the programs to respond to the user’s additional
or changing needs. Maintenance covers a wide range of activities, including correcting coding.
