By setting the lever to PORT or STBD up to mechanical stop, two sets each of contacts are activated. In steering controls with autopilot-override possibility in connection with an override sig- nal unit, an additional set of contacts can be used as OVERRIDE contact. When the tiller is activated, the autopilot is deactivated and the steering control is taken over directly with the tiller.
