•  Diploma in Cyber Law is a basic course in Cyber Law recognized by the
Government of Maharashtra and conducted by Asian School of Cyber
Laws jointly with the Government Law College, Mumbai.

•  This course was launched in 2004. In the last 15 years it has been
completed by more than 25,000 participants.

•  Government Law College, Mumbai, established in 1855, has the


distinction of being the oldest law college in Asia.

•  Asian School of Cyber Laws, born in 1999, has assisted the


Government of India in framing draft rules and regulations under the
Information Technology Act.

A 100 mark open-book exam ONLINE. Score at least 40% to pass.

Course syllabus

1. Fundamentals of Cyber Law


This section introduces the concept of Cyber Law and covers the
Legislative, Judicial, Quasi-judicial, Investigative and International Cyber
Law Framework.

2. E-commerce-Legal issues
This section covers Electronic Contracts and the technical and legal
issues relating to Digital Signatures.

3. Intellectual Property Issues & Cyber space


This section covers Computer Software & Copyright Law, Software
Licenses, Computer Databases & the Law, Domain Names & the Law,
Trademark issues in Cyberspace and Semiconductor Layout & Design Law

4. Cyber Crime Law in India


This section covers the legal issues pertaining to Cyber Frauds, Computer
Source Code, Cyber Pornography, Cyber Terrorism, Data Privacy &
confidentiality, Digital Signature, Freedom of speech, Information & Traffic
Data, Intermediaries, Malware, Unauthorised Access and Violation of
privacy.

Asian School of Cyber Laws

1.  We have assisted the Government of India in framing draft rules


and regulations under the Information Technology Act.

2.  Law enforcement personnel in India and abroad extensively use


our Cyber Crime Investigation Manual. This was one of the first of
its kind manuals in the world. Times of India (the world's largest
selling English newspaper) has referred to it as a bible for Cyber
Crime Investigators.

3.  We have assisted the Controller of Certifying Authorities in


drafting regulations relating to the recognition of foreign
certifying authorities.

4.  A public interest litigation filed by our students led to the


appointment of Adjudicating Officers to decide the fate of cyber
crime cases.

5.  We have assisted the Indian Army, various branches of the Indian
police and the Central Bureau of Investigation in matters relating
to cyber investigation.

6.  We were part of the Organizing Committee for the World


Congress on Informatics and Law at Spain (2002), Cuba (2003)
and Peru (2004).

7.  ASCL Computer Crime & Abuse Report(India) is the only study of
its kind quoted by the United Nations in its E-commerce &
Development Report (2003).

8.  We conducted the c4 - Conference on Cyber Crime Control, 2015


co-organized by Home Dept, Govt. of Maharashtra, Mumbai
Police, IIT Bombay.

9.  We maintain the Global Cyber Law Database, an online repository


of cyber related laws of major countries around the globe.

10.  We developed the world's smallest cyber crime investigation


device code-named pCHIP.

11.  Thousands of students have benefitted from our free online


programs in cyberlaw, intellectual property law and Data Privacy
Law in India.

12.  We have provided academic support to the National Consultation


meeting on Enforcement of Cyber Law organized by National
Project Committee on Enforcement of Cyber Law (Supreme Court
of India).
