Table 1 shows that the strands offered under TVL Track at BVS Colleges are Small Metal Arc
Welding (SMAW), Automotive, Computer Systems Servicing (CSS) and Electronic Products Assembly and
Servicing (EPAS) based on the answers of the respondents.

SMAW is also known as Manual Metal Arc Welding, flux shielded arc welding or informally as
stick welding, is a manual arc welding process that uses a consumable electrode covered with a flux to
lay the weld. Automotive Servicing is one of the specialized subjects under TVL career track. Some
examples of things that will be learn from taking this subject include perform Gas Engine Tune Up. CSS
is designed to develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes of a computer service technician in accordance
with industry standards. EPAS is consists of competences that a person must possess to assemble
electronic products, prepare printed circuit boards modules and to install and service consumer and
industrial electronic products and systems.

The subjects on this track focus on practical knowledge and job-ready training. The first strand
under TVL Track is the Agri-Fishery Arts Strand; Animal Production, Crop production, Landscaping, Food
Processing and Fisheries. Home Economics Strand; Industrial Arts Strand, and ICT Strand.

Table 2 shows the perception of students at BVS Colleges in TVL Track are no need to attend
college, self-course related to self-ability, receive national certificates, practicality, acquire knowledge,
can enhances skills, and short-term course.

In addition, even without college, TVL Track will equip students with job-ready skills in the future.

Table 3 shows the advantages of TVL Track are practicality, early employment, acquire
experiences skills and better future.

This track also invests primarily on skills that can gain you requisite COCs(Certificate of
Competency) and NCs(National Certifications) which would be essential when looking for better career
opportunities in agriculture, electronics and trade. This also important when employing abroad where the
skills you gain would prepare you as you join the work force. If you are really not sure if you will be able
to pursue any degree after Senior High or if you want to earn money immediately after graduation, then
this track is for you. Even without college Technical-Vocational Livelihood track will equip you with job-
ready skills in the future. One of the advantages of TVL is that it allows for a flexible learning environment.
Students may work on their assignments when and where they would like. At the same time, though,
Washington State Law requires students to make academic progress in their online courses.

Table 4 shows that the factors and reasons of BVS SHS students in choosing TVL Track are their
own choices because they can work right after graduating and to try other things to challenge their
selves and parents because they assure that it is their sons/daughters capability.

Students from poor families which cannot afford to go to college opt to enroll in vocational
education which they believe can help them obtain income generating job skills. “Based on the
interview, parents may highly influence in your educational or career choice; therefore there is a need
for the guidance office to raise awareness among your parents on different educational choices and
courses especially on the TVL Track, there importance, advantages and potential careers by conducting
activities related to Vocational Education”—Guidance Councilor

Table 2 shows that the perceptions of teachers to the students who enrolled TVL Track are job
where they can be employed right after SHS, they acquire hands-on skills, being curious and because
TVL is more on practicality.

Table 3 shows that the benefits that a student can acquire in choosing TVL track are they can
have experience for future job, can acquire skills which can help them in early employment and can gain
profit at a young age.

Employment, as the students finish a specific TVL strand, they will be equipped with skills in
order for them to be employed as soon as they finish two years of Senior High School. Most of the skills
offered are highly marketable outside the country with very high salary. Students are exposed to the
industry at an early age to be successful.
