Intercessory for Unanswered Prayers

One of the greatest privileges of prayer is intercessory prayer, however, many

don’t even know what that is! When a friend or loved one is too spiritually
weak to pray for themselves and someone else steps up to the plate to pray
passionately for that person—that is intercessory prayer. There are those who
have turned their backs on God and don’t even know that they even need a
Savior, but God makes a way for us to intervene on their behalf. When we
pray for others, we’re asking God to work in their lives, to perform miracles,
and to bring them closer to Him. Many parents have children who have
wandered away from the Lord and are constantly pointing out their sins, but
preaching and nagging will not bring them back and, in fact, just drives them
further away! Convicting hearts is the job of the Holy Spirit. However, God
responds to heartfelt prayers of intercession! Never give up praying for
someone just because your prayer is not being answered the way you want or
on your timetable. Remember, God’s timing is perfect! Trust that your prayers
are being answered according to God’s perfect will. We cannot pray too much
for our friends and loved ones! And God will honor our prayers even long after
we are gone. So don’t give up! Keep praying, for it is when we pray for others
that God’s power is released in their lives!

Bible Texts:
1 Timothy 2:1 NKJV - Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications,
prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men,

Ephesians 6:18 NKJV - praying always with all prayer and supplication in the
Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all
the saints--
James 5:13-16 NKJV - Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is
anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him
call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with
oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the
Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you
may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
