ABSTRACT
Aircraft C-130 Hercules transport production is Lockheed Martin,
USA. One of the highlights to be analyzed on a C-130 Hercules aircraft was wing who is one of the most important part in carrying out flight. With an increasingly older age and the presence of increase doubler on aircraft wing C-130 Hercules interesting to be investigated and analyzed in order to achieve zero accident in the future. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate and analyze the effect of the aerodynamic characteristics of the lift coefficient and the coefficient of drag that occurs in wing C-130 Hercules aircraft that have been in the doubler. Using software Gambit and Fluent through numerical simulations can be seen that the result of the addition of the doubler to the wing lift coefficient and the resulting lift force is reduced while the coefficient of drag and drag increases. It is expected that the results of this research can provide information to the operator (pilot) as a flying aircraft, maximum and minimum take-off and landing with the changes occurring in the wing aircraft to achieve zero accident.
