well. On the other hand, speaking, one of the macro-skills, plays @ significant part in the learner's
productive development and must be given enough attention to achieve its full potential.
In light of this premise, an initiative to organize a speech craft festival, particularly jazz chants, is
sought to be realized in order to cater speech and theater skills. The event shall be known as the 1%
Interschool English Jazz Chants Festival. The festival aims to promote oral English proficiency and
creative interpretation of jazz chants, however, it is exclusive for private high schools. Should this
proposal get merit, the Supreme Student Government and the English department of the Jose Maria
College will have the appropriate preparation for the event scheduled in October, 2013. Furthermore,
invitations will be sent to schools through the principal and some private sponsors as well.
Moreover in this relation, we humbly request approval from your good office for the event organizers
to proceed with the foregoing. We fervently believe that this activity will surely spark strong support
and enthusiasm from our high schoo! students since this will provide an avenue where they can
Please find attached are the contest piece, mechanics and criteria for the contest.
