During the NSCM, the Philippine Society of Youth Science Clubs (PSYSC) conducts activities thet encourage the youth to actively participate in the science clubbing movement. Through these activities, PSYSC aims to provide a venue for the interaction of science ‘clubs and to recognize excellence through workshops and friendly competitions. The four (4) main events that will kick-off this year’s NSOM are the National Science Clubs Summit (Summit), PSYSC ‘Science Olympiad (PSO), I Teach Science Seminar (ITSS) and Mathematics, Science at Kapaligiran interactive Workshop (MathSciAKa) . ‘The National Science Clubs Summit (SUMMIT) Is 2 ‘one and a half-day gathering of high school science club affiiates, conducted simultaneously in different regions, ‘The event is an opportunity for the different science clubs to leam from lectures, workshops, and plenary session, ‘The SUMMIT brings the camp experience closer to our affiates who are not able to attend the National Youth ‘Science Technology and Environment Summer Camp (NYSTESC). Exciting trademark activites of SUMMIT Jndlude Sub-camp Quiz Competition and fun-filled Science workshops. SUMMIT also offers the chance to MathScAKA, an event which provides set of interactive workshops. The Philippine Society of Youth Science Club Science Olympiad (PSO) is an inter-school quiz competition for elementary and high school students all over the country, This ‘Olympiad consists of two rounds: (1) the National Eliminations, ‘conducted simultaneously in different regions, which will be 2 waiten exam that will challenge the students’ knowledge on various science categories, and (2) the National Finals, which will bbe composed of theoretical and practical rounds. Prizes would Include cash, plaques, medals and certificates. ‘The I Teach Science Seminar (ITSS) is a two-day ‘activity catering to science teachers of affiated schools. It {san enrichment seminar packed with lectures, workshops, ‘and discussions for teachers featuring ways on how they ‘can make science teaching fun and interactive. This is PSYSC’s way of thanking the teachers for the service they bring to the youth and as well as to the organization.
