30th Southeast Asian Games is a
biennial regional multi-sport event which
will be hosted by the Philippines from
Novwember 30 to December 11, 2019.
4 designated hubs:
1. Manila
2. Clark
3. Subic
4. Consisting of Venues not grouped
with the first 3 hubs
This will be the 4th time that the
Philippines will be hosting the Sea
games, (1981, 1991, 2005, 2019)
This will be the Most Notable year for the
games will have e-sports and obstacle
courses plus by having the highest
number of sports in the history of games,
at 56.
The uniform was unveiled by the
Philippine Sports Commission (PSC)
during the Team Philippines General
Assembly held at the Philsports
Complex, Pasig City last July 5, 2019.
Francis Libiran, the artist behind this
masterpiece is a Filipino Architect (from
University of Sto. Tomas) and Fashion
Designer (from Fashion Institute of the
Philippines).
Some of his signature design techniques
include art deco patterns and cutouts,
custom laser-cut materials, intricate
embellishments and custom embroidery.

Barong is paired with slim-fit black
trousers for both men ang women
athletes. Libiran considered the different
body shapes of women and he thought
that making women wear barong top with
trousers will make the look more
cohesive. He also considered and was
advised that not all female athletes are
comfortable in wearing dresses and
skirts.
Details of the uniform:
1. Embroidered patterns similar
to the rays of the sun of the
Philippine flag. This is symbolic
because it signifies positivity so
Libiran sees this as a good
indication for our athletes to think
that way.
2. Batek tatoo is a Visayan tattoo
which symbolizes bravery and
triumph.
3. Piña Jusi Fabric is a treated
design of Jusi, opaque but less
expensive. Libiran chose this for
he wants the uniform to be neat.
4. Detachable alternate collar is
one of the unique features of the
uniform which can be removed so
that the athletes can have two
looks in one. The designer wants
the uniform to stand out but not
too colorful. Hence, the colors
that were used represents the
colors of the Philippine flag.
