Typhoon Hagibis steers clear of PH, won't make landfall
Typhoon Hagibis is unlikely to enter the Philippine area of
responsibility, sparing the country from potentially heavy rains, the state weather bureau said Wednesday. Hagibis was 1,955 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon around 10 a.m., said PAGASA weather forecaster Benison Estareja. Wala po tayong nakikitang landfall scenario or direct effect coming from Hagibis," he told radio DZMM. (Based on its movement, it won't enter the Philippine area of responsibility. We don't see any landfall scenario or direct effect coming from Hagibis.) PAGASA earlier said Hagibis may enter PAR by middle of this week, becoming the country's 16th storm this year. Metro Manila on Wednesday will experience fair weather, while Bicol Region should expect cloudy skies due to winds from the northeast, said Estareja. Isolated rains may dampen the rest of the country in the afternoon or evening, he added. DZMM, October 9, 2019 PROJECT IN ENGLISH
