Dear Mr. Rhodes,

For my Pride paper, I’ve chosen to write about graphic design. I’ve always enjoyed doing arts
and crafts at home and love to find new ways to improve my art skills. I always thought it would
be cool to have a job where you have creative liberties and have the opportunity to create things
that can affect the world. Graphic design sounded like a very interesting topic, mixing the
principles or art with bits of psychology. I started reading a little bit about graphic design and
met someone who works part time as a graphic designer and after looking at some of her work, I
decided that it would be an interesting topic to do my paper on. My mom told my about graphic
design and as I started researching I figured it was a good way to stretch my skills.

While I write about graphic design, I will hit several main topics. I plan to focus on the
importance of Typography in the design world, along with other specific fields of design such as
Web Design, and Cinema. I am using the EBSCOHOST server to find the sources I will be
utilizing such as ​Web Graphic Design ​and ​Typography is the Trunk of the Tree​. I also will focus
on the history of graphic design and the ways that it is evolving using ​Does Graphic Design
Have a Future?.​ I will also have a section on how graphic design influences how we see things
using technology, books, and film.

For my pride paper, I am confident that I will be able to have at least 10 mentor hours. I have
already met someone who works in the field of my study who will possibly be able to mentor
me. I have no doubts that I will be able to achieve my mentor hours quickly and effectively in
order to complete the project

I understand that whether or not it is intentional, plagiarism of any kind is not tolerated, and I
