2. Insights (What new insights or learning did you gain in discussion/ activity?)

i. Before reading the article, I thought that counties don’t put tariffs in trading
anymore and that they always promote to have a free market within.
However, reading the article, I now realize that there are still borders of
economic processes that hindered people to market their goods and services.
These borders affect the flows of capital, labor, goods, raw materials, and
tourists. The trust is that, it was being covered largely in this inter-state system of
the international economic system.

ii. Before reading the article, I thought that the whole article will be revolving on
defining what global cities mean and what does it do, that the author wants
us to gain insights and understanding about global cities. However, reading
the article, I now realize that the author wanted us to have a deeper
understanding about globalization by studying the concepts of global cities.

iii. Before reading the article, I thought that global cities are just the typical cities
where growth and development are evident through its features and gives
livelihood and opportunities to every individual living within the area like any
other cities do. However, reading the article, I now realize that global cities
around the world are the territory that processes assume concrete and
localized forms. It is the It has emerged into a strategic site for a whole range
of new types of political, economic and social operations. It is the center city
of a country which is a primary node in the global economic network.
