Architectural Ecology Q

Pre-Design: Water and Air as the Site of Architecture

Water is an inseparable element in architectural design. Water balance is

important in the survival of life. Humans need water, so does nature.

Water is actually everywhere. Nature has basically made it possible to balance

water. One example is the water cycle, where water comes and goes in an area.
From there, we can utilize the water optimally so that human life can take place
better. What we can do in organizing water is how to get it, store it, manage it,
and dispose of it.

Meanwhile with the air, compared to water that can go (change into another
form), the air is always around us. Air can be very easily taken. What must be
considered in managing air is managing its quality. Because it is everywhere, air
quality is very easy to change. This process of managing air quality can be done
in many ways depending on its purpose.
