The Republic of Tunisia

United Nation Human Right Council

Tunisia has joined the United Nations since 1956, the same year as Tunisian independence. Since

then Tunisia has also agreed with the establishment of the UDHR as the human rights standard

used. Tunisia believes in the ideals set forth in the UDHR, "No one should be subjected to torture

or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment". Tunisia joins UNHRC with aspirations

that human rights in the world and Tunisia in particular can be carried out well. Tunisia is very

confident that UNHRC can find a resolution for every problem faced and continues to support this

institution.

In January 2011, Tunisia became the first country in the MENA region to change its autocratic

regime through a widespread and peaceful popular uprising. Following this major transformation

and OHCHR, the High Commissioner was dispatched to Tunisia in order to assess how the Office

could accompany national efforts towards the establishment of a democratic society in Tunisia.

this step clearly changes the community order and reduces the level of use of violence on civil

society.

In response to the humanitarian emergency of the Yemen civil war. Tunisia strongly condemned

the war in Yemen. We condemn every actor who intentionally makes the community the target of

the attack. We also condemn aggression from other countries against Yemen, which clearly adds
to the bad condition. We also condemn the sea, water and land blockades carried out, this clearly

kills civil society. Therefore we believe in actions that can improve the condition:

1. invites all countries joined by UNHCR to remind and support peace in Yemen by

continuing to raise the motion of humanitarian problems in Yemen.

2. Pressing the United Nations Sucurity Council to take actions that have a real impact on the

development of peace in Yemen.

3. Recommend member states to fully acknowledge that every act of violence is a defamation

of the values contained in the UDHR.
