1. Name of the Award
Governor’s Research Award-2019 for Best Research Publication in Science
and Technology, Social subjects and Regional Languages

3. Objectives
(i) To recognize outstanding research publication in Science and
Technology, Social subjects and Regional Languages from State
Universities of Uttarakhand
(ii) To provide incentives for excellence in research and innovation
4. Nature of the Award
Three open awards, one each in Science & Technology, Social subjects, and
Regional Languages. The award is meant for
Researchers/Scientists/Faculties of Uttarakhand State Universities only.
5. The Year of Institution of the Award: 2015
6. The Year of Research Work to be Recognized: 1st April of preceding
year to the 31st March of the year of the award (i.e. 2018-2019)
7. Frequency
Annual
8. Eligibility Criteria
The best research paper of all Uttarakhand Researchers/ Scientists/Faculties
engaged in different universities are eligible for the award. The research
work must be original and well-focused on important themes. The awards
are meant for individuals for their extraordinary, original creative
contributions in advancement in science, concept, new technology,
innovation, prototype, software, social issues and regional languages etc.
9. Evaluation for the Award
There shall be a Judging Committee of 3 members to evaluate the
applications and make appropriate recommendation to the Hon’ble
Governor, Uttarakhand. The Judging Committee is appointed by the
Hon’ble Governor.
10.Evaluation Criteria
a. Conceptual clarity and originality of the research work.
b. Scientific, technological and socio-economic relevance.
c. Significant knowledge generation in Science/Technology and Patents
obtained, if any.
d. Quality of research publication as evidenced by its impact factor.
e. Citation as seen in Science Citation Index.
f. Impact of Research work done, if any.
