This is all about the traditional sugar cookie with changes. Can you recognize by taste what changes
have been made? You are your elbow partner will split each cookie to determine which is which
through qualitative observations. You will not be given another to taste again or if you drop so be
careful….
Cookie types: One cookie has had lemon added, one has had no egg added, one has no margarine
added, and one has more vanilla & baking soda added. Which two are the normal sugar cookies?-- only
one has butter added and the other one has margarine added. Constants kept were temperature of
350˚ and 7 min. bake time, using the same cookie sheet with parchment paper and all other ingredients
the same.
Step one: you and your elbow partner need to collect your 6 cookies and then split each one so both
have half of each cookie.
Step two: smell your cookie half to see if you can tell by scent which cookie is which.
Step three: look closely at the cookie half to see if you can initially see the difference.
Step four: lick and taste carefully the 6 cookie halves one at a time to finalize your choices
Step five record your choice and the qualitative observation made to determine type.
