Magnetic Method
1. The geomagnetic field, magnetic anomalies, Magnetic survey instrument, Field 2
‘method of magnetie surveys.
2. Reduction of magnetic data, diurnal and geomagnetic correction. Interpretation of 2
magnetic anomalies.
3. Magnetic response of simple geometric shapes, Application of magnetic survey. 1
Gravity Method
4. Units of gravity, gravity measuring instruments, gravity survey. 3
5. Gravity anomalies, gravity data reduction, Drift, Latitude, Elevation and Free-air 2
correction. Free-air and Bouguer anomalies.
6. Gravity response of simple geometric shapes. Interpretation of gravity anomalies and 2
application of gravity methods
Seismic Methods
7. Geometry of refracted ray path, planar interface. Two layer case with horizontal 3
interface. Methodology of refraction profiling.
8. Field surveys arrangements, Recording instruments and energy source. Corrections. 2
applied to refraction data.
9. Interpretation of refraction data. Application of seismic refraction method, Passive 2
