In this article, the study of Rego (2015) presents the idea of reliable parenting and its
effects on academic achievement. The researcher focuses on authoritative parenting. The
authoritative parenting may learn to provide disciplinary rules for their children, while showing
them the love and support, and to assist in development of their self-images. The study stated
that if child grow up with authoritative parenting, the child will more likely to blame their failure
because of own shortage of effort, instead of lack of intelligence. In this research, a total of 290
students consisting of 257 females, and 33 male . The students came from Private University’s
Sona System, Psychology Students. As expected, many fail to answer the 89 questions in 58
minutes. The research highlighted that students with high authoritative parents are likely to have
learning focused than students with other types of parents. High self-esteem may offer an
individual a positive mentality and the will to never give up.
