Sustainable Development.
"Excavating the Abyss, Pulsing the Current, Steering the Youth as Stewards of Sustainable
Development,"what could it mean? Even I myself do not know but try to understand this. After minutes
of reading and researching in the dictionary, I found different meanings of each word and phrase. First ,
"Excavating the Abyss," now some of you might wonder especially without a dictionary, what is the
meaning of excavating and abyss. Let me tell you something about it.

Excavating means to dig a large hole, while abyss means a hole so deep that it cannot be measured.
Altogether, form the phrase "Excavating the Abyss," when the pieced are put together, it means to
discover lots and lots of new and different things; to dig a large hole so deep that it cannot be measured.
It could also be explained as if you were a curious child having deep thoughts. You use your curiosity to
discover new things..

"Pulsing the Current," what could this mean? Does it involve your heartbeat? Electricity? Yes! It could be
but it doesn't apply to this tricky phrase. This phrase could also be related to the idiom, "adding fuel to
the fire," still connected to the first phrase "Excavating the Abyss," it's also known as feeding your
curiosity. Have you ever gotten that satisfying feeling when you have a question and you amazingly find
and analyze the answer? This phrase also means everything that you ask or do will help you improve
better life and learn many things.

"Steering the Youth as Stewards of Sustainable Development," which is the easiest to understand. It
simply means to educate youth or students for a better future. It is because if teachers, advisers or
educators would not educate youth, what would become of their future? The Earth's future? Have you
ever wondered what the earth would be like if people were not educated? More crime would be done
without education. Education is for everybody to differentiate good things to do and bad things to do.

So, to my fellow students! Don't always aim for a high grade. Aim that you learn!
