Title of the
project Superheroes of cleaning

Location Environment, population and relevant cultural aspects that affect the
superhero.

Superheroes of cleaning is an environmental group led by young

people from the region and who belong to different communes in the
city of Ibagué, are preparing to recover spaces affected by the incorrect
disposal of solid waste around the main water sources of our
department, such as also to maintain the recreational spaces installed on
the round of the Hato de la Virgen creek and other neighborhoods of
Ibagué, those spaces that went improperly in being garbage points,
rubble and consumption of psychoactive substances today become
playgrounds for the use and enjoyment of the families of the community
and likewise a better coexistence is being generated.

Set the objective of the project.

It is a network of young environmentalists, where they act voluntarily,

with the objective of being able to identify social and environmental
needs of communities and unite networks of volunteers at the regional
level so that they can make contributions in time or in money. In which
they carry out conferences with collaborators, family members,
companies, allies or members of the community in order to transform
and positively impact society.

The young environmentalists have joined other groups and entities that
also have the same objectives, being very benefited in all aspects with
the support of the Ministry of Housing, Ministry of Environment and
Sustainable Development, Civil Defense, Mayor of Ibagué, InterAseo
SAS, Cortolima, Social Group Foundation, Ibagué Limpia, Cemex,
HomeCenter, COMFATOLIMA.

They have participated in environmental programs such as Ibague-

cleaning #MeunoBavaria, Join the change Ibagué.

Over time the community is getting to know key aspects about how to
take care of our ecosystems, communities and natural resources. Some
studies that have been carried out and the results that the Ministry of
Environment and Sustainable Development says in 2017, Colombia
produces more than 12 million tons of garbage per year from which it
recycles less than 9%. Much of this production reaches the rivers and
seas of the country, and pollutes the essential water for the quality of life
of our inhabitants.
