This is the second learning reflection for this Spanish course. This course is all about
grammar and leaning more about conjugations and the basics of grammar in Spanish more in
depth. So far, this class is helping me remember the basics and giving me more knowledge on
how to form sentences in a proper way. I have also had my struggles in this course but I am
The big topic of this week’s class was the subjunctive tense. This conjugation has always
been a bit of a struggle for me over the years. The endings for the verbs are replaced with the
opposite endings, for example if the word is an -ar verb then the ending will be in the -er verb
conjugation. The subjunctive is used when the person is using a WEIRDO expression which
stands for wishes, emotions, impersonal expressions, recommendations, doubt, and ojala. These
indicate when the subjunctive is needed as well as if the word que follows.
My strengths for this class so far are that I have already some knowledge of the
subjunctive and the other elements of grammar we have discussed. Having previous classes that
have discussed the same topics relay helps to make sure the new information is learned. The
weakness that I had for this chapter was that the subjunctive is fairly hard for me. I just have a
hard time conjugating and knowing exactly when and when not to use it. My overall progress
and evaluation is good, I need to read deeper in the grammar activities and practice more to make
