It is not rare for me to see people call each other gay when 2 men walk together; it is not rare for me to
see people clap their palms together and yell Heejra whenever a man might wear something pink; it is
not rare for me to see people yell Wo dekh mard agaya whenever a woman walks by with a slight stash
above her lips, or some hair on her legs.
All around me every-day I see people set gender norms, I see people look upon homo/bisexuals and
transgenders with hatred and reluctance to accept their existence. I see people who are selfish and
refuse to change the way they think. They have a set idea of a how a society should work or how a
human should behave and anything that doesn’t fall in-between their lines calls for riots on the streets
or a #deathtogays outrage on social media. I believe that this needs to change.
