Definition of Terms:

Slump Test- the researcher undergoes a test to check if the amount of water added in
the concrete mixture is correct, also to assess the consistency of fresh concrete.

Compressive Strength- the researcher undergoes a test to know the capacity of the
aggregates that can carry a given load or can withstand tensile strength, using a
Universal Testing Machine.

Fine Aggregates-fine aggregates was used to make a comparison with crushed coconut
shell, if what is economically to use.

Curing-the researcher undergo a curing test of 28 days to develop the properties the
mixture was designed to achieve.

Crushing- crushing coconut shell to make it as a partial replacement of fine aggregates.

Concrete-it is the composite material where one of the mixture is replaced by crushed
coconut shell.

Abrasion-the researcher used abrasion machine to measure the degradation of mineral


aggregates of standard grading’s.

Coarse Aggregate-coarse aggregate was used to mixed together with the crushed
coconut shell as a partial replacement of fine aggregates to make concrete.
