M35A2 (2 1/2 Ton TRUCK) BATTERY PRESERVATION SYSTEM KIT
(BPS '"-M35A2 KI
NOTE: In this manual the term M35A2 applies to all models and variants of the M35
Series 2 1/2 Ton Truck.
The BPS™- M35A2 kit is specifically designed to allow quick and easy installation of a
Solargizer™ so that the number one cause of problems with military batteries - sulfatin:
(coating of the lead plates by sulfur molecules) can be effectively attacked. The BPS™.
M35A2 is designed for permanent installation and requires no programmed maintenance.
The kit consists of: a heavy duty custom-made solarpanel mounting bracket and guard
assembly; one (1) 24-volt Solargizer™; two (2) positive (+) and two (2) negative (-) solid
brass quick-release battery terminals; four (4) battery terminal protectors; custom cut
Battery Mat™; required installation hardware and material to complete the installation,
LOGIS-TECH SOLARPANEL MOUNTING BRACKET AND GUARD
(SMB&G) ASSEMBLY
The Solarpanel Mounting Bracket and Guard (SMB&G) assembly is specifically
designed for installation on all M35 Series 2 1/2 Ton Trucks. It is designed for permanent
installation to protect the solarpanel during field operations and training as well as operator
and maintenance activities. It is installed in a location that will not impede normal vehicle
operation. The solarpanel and associated wiring is protected while ensuring 100%
exposure to sunlight. The SMB&G assembly is powder coated for protection against
corrosion.
SOLARGIZER™
The Solargizer™ transmits a patented, pulsating, DC waveform to the batteries,
increasing battery efficiency and extending battery life, greatly reducing battery
maintenance and replacement costs. The pulsation prevents sulfation in new batteries
and reduces it in older batteries. Each unit is comprised of a solarpanel, circuit board box
(CBB), associated wiring and battery connection terminals.
SOLID BRASS, QUICK-RELEASE BATTERY TERMINALS AND
BATTERY TERMINAL PROTECTORS
The quick-release battery terminals provide a positive connection to the battery terminal
posts and allow for quick, positive, removal and reinstallation without tools. The solid
brass construction significantly increases the transfer of available electrical energy from
the battery. The terminals are clear coated to improve battery acid resistance. The battery
terminal protectors absorb and neutralize electrolyte gasses escaping around the
terminals, reducing corrosion on both terminals and posts. Electrolyte gassing occurs
when gas escapes between the lead posts and battery case during normal battery use.Logis-Tech, inc. BPS ™-M35A2 Installation Manual
Version 00-11-30
BATTERY MAT™
Battery Mat™ is a proven, inexpensive way to eliminate battery box corrosion caused by
battery acid leaks, boil over and acid vapors. This patented material is made of
polypropylene fiber chemically treated to absorb and neutralize acid. The material is safe
to handle and easy to use. The BPS™- M35A2 Kit contains custom cut Battery Mat™
pieces to line the bottom and sides of the M35A2 battery box for maximum protection.Logis-Tech, inc. BPS ™M35A2 Installation Manual
