# Gestures

Calca for iOS supports gestures to make editing easier.

There are two: one to move the cursor (the blinking text insertion point), and
another to modify numbers.

## Moving the Cursor

To move the cursor one character at a time, **swipe left and right** while editing.
(You know you're editing when the keyboard is visible.)

You will notice that the cursor moves with your finger - when you move right, it
moves right. Up and down movements do nothing while moving the cursor.

## Changing a Number

When you tap a number, the whole number will be selected. Try to tap the blue text
87.9 below (while editing) to select it completely:

speed = 87.9 mph

energy = 1/2 * 2712 lb * speed^2 in kJ

=> 949.7208 kJ

Now you can **swipe left and right** to change the value of the number. Swiping
right will increase the **least significant digit** in the number and swiping left
will decrease it. And, of course, Calca updates calculations while you do this.

You can also **move up and down** after swiping left or right to change the **3rd
least significant digit**. Moving up increases it, and moving down decreases it.
