B.E,/B.Arch. and 9" sem. B.Arch. for the academic year 2017-18 are ‘scheduled to commence from 31° July 2017, and attendance will be counted right from day one. Regeaetion All students have to register themselves for the respective courses on 30" and 31* July 2017 by paying the annual fee as detailed overleaf, in one installment. Fee payment has to be made through internet banking by visiting www.sit.ac.in (Pay your fee online tab). Those who are paying fee by education loan sanctioned by banks are permitted to submit crossed DD drawn in favour of “principal, SIT, Tumakuru”, payable at Tumakuru. A penal fee of € 500/- will be levied for late registrations on 1* August 2017 only. Under no circumstances, late registrations beyond 1* August 2017 will be allowed. + Allotment of hostel rooms will be matle on 31% July 2017 only for those students who have paid the hostel fee and registered for the eligible semester by paying the prescribed college fee. Campus placements Our campus placements during the year 2016-17 have been good. So fat, there have been more than 637 placements. Continuous Internal Evaluation marks, which are based on the performance of the students in Four Quizzes, two tests and three assignments conducted during the semester, will definitely improve the SGPA and CGPA. Therefore, you are requested to advise your ward to be regular in studies and prepare well for the quizzes, . mid sem, exams & assignments. and score good marks. It is also necessary that the student attends the lasses regularly and has a sound knowledge in the subject and hence it has beri decided to permit only those students who have attendance more than 85% in each semester, to appear for campus interviews. Hence, we request you kindly to advise your ward to attend the classes regularly and undergo the above training programmes with all seriousness which will help him/her to face the selection process with confidence. Special Programmes at SIT leading to value addition: The institute provides excellent facilities and arranges programmes in the institute, in order to empower the students with necessary additional knowledge and skills so that the students cater to thé needs of the industry and the society. Parents are, therefore, requested to encourage their wards to make full use of the facilities available in the institute. P10.Internet facilities are available in all the departments and hostels with 250 mbps lease line and SIT is WiFi campus. Free coaching classes are organized, on request by students. ‘The institute gives an award of % 500/- per semester in the form of coupons, to any student who puts in 100% attendance. Co-curricular and extra curricular activities, which are designed to help students in developing their leadership qualities and capacity to work in groups, are arranged. A specially designed Handbook cum Work-planner is supplied to all students, the effective use of which will help the student in achieving efficiency in his/her work by effective utilization of time. Zero Ragging in SIT: Ragging is punishable under various provisions envisaged in the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as per the Supreme Court order.
