Rural youth is a Project founded by the European Union, developed by FUNDACION PLAN and CETEC
that seeks to generate economic opportunities for young people in the territory so that they can
develop their life projects.
All the actions of the project seek to strengthen the gender equality in associations among youth
people, through the incursion into new productive activities in which work is valued equally

To the extent that from homes for example, there are girls who still doesn't study because they have to
take care of the younger siblings, or parents don’t cheer them up to study arguing that their purpose is
to get married and have sons, and in the whole community gets powered the duty of men over
women, so I think that in all spaces we have many inequalities.

In the association that I'm part of, we have achieved an impact in the women, now we have a female
empowerment within the association, before there was a large amount of men and now is the

certain activities, to we can all complement each other in order to work together.

they must assume leadership so that their associations and their communities can live process
experiences pointing to autonomy exercises.

Those possibilities that women have and that they exercise but that are not recognized as generators
of development, then there are women shopkeepers, at the restaurant, the hairdresser and they are
alone, like they been working in the shadows, we have to start making these activities visible.

all of us.

As a result of this exercise in the associations we find young people who have begun to enter projects
that have been traditionally masculine, with a level of efficiency and performance on equal terms than
men, in order to establish more equitable relationships at this time and in the future.
Currently, community associations have been developing actions for gender equality in each of their
communities.
Dialog 12
Nelsy
Here in our communities the gender inequality grow a lot, so I try that what I learned there, replicates
here, and that our women become aware of that we will be empowered, that we too are worthy and
