[Title WIP]

FADE IN.

1. INT. BEDROOM – MORNING

ALEX wakes up and makes their way out of bed. They start by
eating a bowl of cereal for breakfast (still in pyjamas) then
they brush their teeth and finally gets dressed (off camera).
Next ALEX gets ready to go out for the day by packing a bag,
writes a shopping list and getting their shoes on before leaving
the house to go to the shop.

2. EXT. OUTSIDE - MORNING

While outside ALEX receives a phone call from a relative from


Europe who can’t talk English so Alex has to speak in their
language attracting some disgruntled looks from people they walk
by.

ALEX
Hello how are you today?... oh, really
that’s bad… what do you mean? are you sure?

PASSER BY 1
We don’t like your kind around here

PASSER BY 2
Fucking foreigners

ALEX ignores the comments and hangs up the phone as they walk
into a shop.

3. INT. SHOP – DAY

As ALEX walks around the shop they walk past some newspapers
with an article about the new prime minister claiming that due
to the EU becoming ‘hostile’ after negotiations for Brexit
breaking down leaving tensions high between the UK and Europe.

ALEX picks up some milk, bread and butter and they goes to pay
and stands behind someone who was born in Britain with similar
items.

CASHIER
That will be £4.19 please would you like your
receipt

CUSTOMER

There you go and no thank you


The CASHIER politely smiles as ALEX comes to the till as they
scan the items.

CASHIER
That will be £4.20 please

ALEX
Can I pay by card please?

CASHIER
Sure

As ALEX scans their card the till starts to beep and the cashier
looks frustrated.

CASHIER
Sorry I forgot the tax that’ll be £7.36 please

ALEX
What do you mean the guy in fount didn’t
have any extra tax

CASHIER
Well it appears that you were not born
in the UK so there’s a tax

ALEX
(Annoyed) Fine here

ALEX begins to grumble to them self

CASHIER
Thank you would you like your receipt?

ALEX walks away without saying anything and leaves the shop

4. EXT. HOUSE – AFTERNOON

A JOHN is stood outside of ALEX’s house and walks over to ALEX


with a very stern look on their face.

JOHN
Hello are you Alex?

ALEX
Yes, who are you?

JOHN
I’m John I’m part of your local council
I’m here to hand out bands and identification
papers for people who aren’t native to the UK

ALEX
Why do I need identification papers and a band
now? I’ve lived here for years

JOHN
I’m just a messenger if you want to know more the
prime minister will be explaining everything
later on BBC 1

5. INT. HOUSE – LIVINGROOM – EVENING

ALEX is sat in their living room waiting for the prime


minister’s speech to come on the TV anticipating the
announcement about the papers and the arm bands.

The speech starts and the prime minister claims that due to the
tensions between the UK and the EU they need to know who comes
from Europe as they are a potential threat to the UK as not
everyone is happy with the laws in place.
