1. POC device is not only limited to equipment. Rapid card test is not involved to any
equipment to read the final result.
2. Rapid test is a part of point-of-care testing. It is the primary test of diagnosing any disease
where screening is done. Then further it is confirmed by ELISA, then it is next confirmed by
Analyzers.
3. For whole blood test, lancet is used. But for HIV, dengue, HbA1c; serum based plasma is
used for that lancet is not useful.
4. For rapid tests, two types of technologies are used_________Lateral Flow technology and
flow through technology.
5. Lateral flow technology depends on the capillary movement of the reagent
6. Flow through technology depends on the absorption of the liquidity agents.
7. Coagulation testing is done for blood grouping such as ARP.
8. IVD consists of different tests such as point-of-care tests, rapid tests, biochemistry test and
others.
9. ELISA technology is used in immunodiagnostic and chromate graphic technologies are used
in rapid tests.
