This portion presents the methods that will be use by the researcher in the conduct of the

study. It specifies the Research Design, Variables of the Study, Sampling Procedure,

Instrumentation, Method of Data Gathering and Method of Data Analysis.

Research Design

This study will use a descriptive survey method. Descriptive survey study is the study

designed to depict the participants in an accurate way, it is all about describing people who take

part in study (Kowalczyk, 2003). This design will provide profound analysis of the gathered

information to the subject. The data is Quantitative pertaining to the reasons that contribute in the

psychosocial consequences of Zumba among married women, it will aim to know and understand

the background of the respondents, as well as the consequences of doing Zumba.

Variables of the Study

The variables of the study include the socio-economic profile of the respondents (age,

number of children, educational attainment, respondents occupation, husband’s occupation and

monthly salary), the reasons of joining Zumba, and the psychosocial consequences of Zumba to

the respondents.

Sampling Procedure

Non-probability sampling procedure will be used in the study. Non-probability sampling

is a sampling technique wherein the samples are gathered in a process that does not give all

individuals in the population equal chances of being selected because the population is unknown.
This study will make use of purposive sampling in knowing the respondents, since the

respondents will meet some characteristic. Purposive sampling is a sampling technique in which

researcher relies on his or her own judgement when choosing members of population to participate

in the study (Dudosvskiy, 2016). The respondents must be married women, must joining Zumba

and must live in General Santos City.

The researcher will use snow ball technique in this study. The researcher will be asking the

respondent to refer someone to be a respondent of this research.

Instrumentation

The instrument of this study will be questionnaire. The questionnaire will compose of three

different parts. The first part will answer the questions about the demographic profile of the

respondents, the second part will answer the questions about reasons of joining Zumba and the last

part are questions that will determine the psychosocial consequences of Zumba to the respondents.

The questionnaire will be evaluated and validated by the Sociology Department Faculty.

The suggestions of the validators will be considered for the improvement of the questionnaire.

Methods of Data Gathering

The survey questionnaire will be used in gathering the data. The researcher will be asking

people around General Santos City area for a referral of qualified respondents.

After the validation of questionnaire, since the researcher is joining Zumba Fitness at

Veranza, Mall of General Santos City, she has an easy access to conduct in the said location. The

researcher will approach the respondents and ask permission for the conduct of the study. After
getting the information the researcher will take time to first provide the questionnaire and follow

complete questionnaire, then review to ensure that all items were answered.

Methods of Data Analysis

The data to be gathered by the researcher will be analyzed using frequency and

percentage distribution on the demographic profile of the respondent which include age, number

of children, educational attainment, respondent’s occupation, husband’s respondents, and monthly

salaru the reasons of joining zumba and psychosocil consequences of zumba to the respondents.
