Characters

Katniss Everdeen - the strong woman who volunteer herself to be the female tribute of
District 12 to spare her sister.

Peeta Mellark - the boy tribute of District 12 and the son of a baker. He is kind and
loyal, and he becomes Katniss’s love interest and main ally during the Hunger Games.

Haymitch Abernathy - Katniss’s and Peeta’s trainer. The who gets sponsors for his
trainees.

Effie Trinket -the one who picked papers in a large bowl written the names of all people
from the District 12 in selecting the tributes as the representative in the Hunger Games.
Gale - Katniss’s best friend and the one who helps Katniss to survive their lives in their
place.
Prim Everdeen - Katniss’s little sister that is almost in being the female tribute of District
12.
Cato - the male tribute from District 2 who almost killed Katniss and Peeta in the giant
Cornucopia.
Rue - the female tribute from District 11 who helps Katniss to get rid from the pack of
Career tributes.
Caesar Flickerman - the classy television host who interviews Katniss and Peeta before
and after the game.
Claudius Templesmith - the game creator and an announcer during the Hunger Games
President Snow - the president of Panem

Setting
In the dystopian, post-apocalyptic nation of Panem, located in North America.

Plot

Annually, the Capitol holds the Hunger Games as a reminder of the districts' defeat in a
war with them. Each district need 2 tributes, male and female regardless of their age,
as the representatives of their districts during the game. During the choice of Hunger
Games tributes, the dream of Prim, Katniss Everdeen' sister, came true. She was
picked to be the female tribute of District 12. Katniss volunteers immediately as
exchange to Prim. Then Peeta Mellark, who gave a bread to Katniss while she is
searching food for her family, was picked to be the male tribute of District 12. Katniss
and Peeta stayed in the Capitol for few days to attend group trainings and impress
people to get sponsors. The time has finally come.All tributes from each district lifted
into the arena and fight for their lives. Katniss and Peeta gained the attention of the
watchers as being star-crossed lovers during the game. In the middle of the game, the
game creator switched the rule that permits to have two winners from same district.
Katniss and Peeta was the only two tributes left in the game. Just think they’ve won,
another announcement is made that there can only be one winner again. Katniss takes
out the poisonous berries for they don't want to kill each other.. Just as she and Peeta
put them in their mouths, the announcer shouts for them to stop and declares them both
winners.

Climax

Katniss, Peeta, and Cato are the last three tributes left. Katniss and Peeta head towards
the giant Cornucopia to run away from a pack of genetically altered wolves.
Unexpectedly, Cato was also on the giant Cornucopia as Katniss and Peeta climbed up.
Cato attempts to kill them both but Katniss shoots him with an arrow. Cato falls to the
ground and eaten by the wolves. As they are the only two tributes left, the announcer
changes the rule that only one tribute can win. Neither of Katniss and Peeta wants to kill
each other, they decided to eat toxic berries at the same time. They are quickly stopped
and announced to be the winners of the game.
