Qualitative research is the brainstorming stage before the author carry on to his research.

It is when the

author looks up topic, he/she might be interesting in and reads up on it to see if there is enough data to

a do a research on. Most of the time the topic that is of interesting to the author might had a study done

on it already, or there is not enough data to support the research. there are different stage to qualitative

research, for example; literature review is when the author makes sure not to repeat someone else’s

work and interpret and critically evaluate other studies. The statement of purpose is to know what topic

you are conducting your research on. Central and related questions is how the research will be

organized and transform into interview, as to why you chose that topic and what kind of research it is

going to be. Qualitative research is to observe abstract information and quantitative research is to

conduct an experiment and get a result. The author needs to know his hypothesis to know what to focus

on as well who’s research, he/she going to use to support the research. He /she need to be aware of the

space the research is going to take place , who are the participant ( age group, men , women , career,

etc..) how many of them and how he/she is going to get access to the participant and place. We then

move on to data collecting and data analytic methods, writing style confessional, descriptive

interpretive. How the data will be gathered, whether by interviews or ethnographic. Interviews are the

most common style or ethnographic when you live with someone or a group of people to study their

culture or habits. We would need to know as well how the author plan to collect the data, either by

videotaping, listening through interview, or watching. But qualitative research focus more on social

action like on average or what percentage of groups did what? After gathering all the information for

the study the author start to put it together for a representation then to present it and build a schedule

on how many days will be devoted to analyzing the data and how many days will be spent out in the

field. The goal is to make sure the theoretical framework illustrate your research by easing your readers

understanding of your research approach. lastly the author will submit the research to the IRB

application and review committee to approach and question the research.
